Principal's Message

While April was a flurry of activity here at Scott Young, May and June promise to be even busier. Some of the important activities which are planned in the near future include the county skipping competition, Trent Enrichment Camp, Boys' Night and of course our grade 8 Quebec trip.   Academically, our grade 6 students are focusing on the upcoming EQAO assessments which will take place between May 23rd and June 6th.  In terms of athletics our attention changes from basketball to track and field as all of our students strive to achieve "personal bests" at our school track meet on May 18th.  I also wanted to congratulate all three of our basketball teams on an excellent season (junior mixed, intermediate boys, and intermediate girls) as they represented our school extremely well in the recent zone tournaments.

As the warmer weather approaches, it is important to remind our students of the "School Dress Code" as outlined in the agenda. Students are asked to dress appropriately for the "business of education". The hotter weather also brings with it the potential for sunburns as a result of the harmful ultra violet rays so hats and sunscreen are also recommended. Parental support in assisting our students to make wise and suitable clothing choices is greatly appreciated.
