$1728.72 raised as part of the Terry Fox Run!

Monday, September 28, 2009

Mrs. Darling was busy this morning adding up the final Terry Fox Run pledges. When I returned to my office around noon, I discovered a yellow "sticky" note on my door, which had the total amount raised on it: $1728.72 was raised as part of Scott Young's Terry Fox Run.

Thank you to our staff, students, and entire school community for this great achievement and for keeping Terry's dream alive.

Friday, September 25, 2009

tf0026_thumbOn Friday, September 25, 2009, Scott Young's staff and students put on their house league clothing, running shoes or their rollerblades and participated in the annual Terry Fox Run. As the photos illustrate, our school community rallied together to remember the inspirational Canadian icon and to keep Terry's dream alive.

We are please to announce that we have raised $1728.72! Thank you to our school community for this great achievement.

Open House

Thursday, September 17, 2009

openhouseStudents at Scott Young P.S. tested their lockers and found their way between classrooms at the annual open house event this evening.

We had a terrific turnout for our Open House on September 17th.  Our teachers and support staff worked hard to get classrooms set up and it was so exciting to see the students so ready and eager to be back at school.

During the open house, subs and pizza were eaten while parents and students mingled with our teachers on the front grounds of our school property.

I was very thankful for our dedicated volunteers who raised awareness of three very important features of our school: School Council, The Lunch Lady Program, and a call for volunteers to help out with our Pediculosis program.

This was a great evening. It was exciting to see parents, students, and community members in attendance and excited staff ready for what's to come.
