In only three days, Scott Young Public School surpassed their goal of $200 and raised $1600 for ALS! Everyone at Scott Young PS including staff and students alike, were challenged to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by the Rolling Hills Public School Me to We group – who had raised $1200 for ALS last week.

Students get soaked with firehose.

Today (Sept. 12) at 2:30 p.m. students and staff marched out of the school wearing their respectable “House League” t-shirts and gathered on the grass. Awaiting them was a Kawartha Lakes Fire Services Truck, ready to soak the entire school with ice cold water! But first, the student who raised the most money was able to choose the staff member of his/her choice to soak with a bucket of ice water. One student raised $265 and Mr. Demers aka “Mr. D” got soaked!
