Huntsville Public School hosts Music Monday

On May 6, Huntsville Public School invited students from V.K. Greer Memorial Public School, Irwin Memorial Public School, and Spruce Glen Public School to celebrate Music Monday.

The annual event was founded in 1992 by The Coalition for Music Education to raise awareness and understanding of the role that music education plays in Canadian culture, and to promote the benefits that music brings to young people.

Throughout the day, students shared their musical talents with each other in various formats, including performances from a concert band, a couple rock bands, a glee club, a choir, two small ensembles, and a solo performance.

“This celebration brought musicians together in a unique way and allowed everyone a chance to share and appreciate each other’s hard work and talent,” said HPS music teacher, Jolene Martin.
