The Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) After School Skills Development Program offers social skills learning opportunities for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) outside of the regular school day.
This year’s Spring 2026 programming offers two in-person programs and one virtual program, each with a specific social skills focus and target age group.
Program 1 – LEGO Club
The program will focus on learning the skills needed to play in a small social group format using LEGO.
For: students with ASD who are in Kindergarten to Grade 2 during the 2025-2026 school year and who the school team feels would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction.
Location: in-person at one of the following schools: Archie Stouffer Elementary School, Cardiff Elementary School, Gravenhurst Public School, Langton Public School, Monck Public School, Parkview Public School, Pine Glen Public School, or Stuart Baker Elementary School.
Length: a 60-minute group learning session every Tuesday at 5 to 6 p.m. from January 27 to March 3.
Application deadline: complete the Online Registration Form by Friday, January 9.
Program 2 – Board Game Club
The program will focus on learning the skills needed to play in a small social group format using board games.
For: students with ASD who are in Grade 3 to 5 during the 2025-2026 school year and who the school team feels would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction.
Location: in-person at one of the following schools: Archie Stouffer Elementary School, Gravenhurst Public School, J.D. Hodgson Elementary School, Langton Public School, Monck Public School, or Parkview Public School.
Length: a 60-minute group learning session every Tuesday at 5 to 6 p.m. from April 7 to May 26.
Application deadline: complete the Online Registration Form by Friday, January 9.
Program 3 – Robotics Coding Club
The program will focus on learning the skills needed to play in a virtual group format with a robotics and coding focus.
For: students with ASD who are in Grade 4 to 12 during the 2025-2026 school year and who the school team feels would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction.
Location: virtual
Length: a 90-minute group learning session on either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at 5:30 to 7 p.m. from February 3 to March 10.
